1Password's Terms: Strong on Your Data, Weak on Your Money
October 10, 2026
1Password handles your passwords and vaults—so trust matters. We read their terms. Here's what sticks out.
1Password is a password manager and identity platform. You pay for access to store and sync your login credentials across devices.
🔴 Refunds are at their discretion, case by case. You pay upfront. Getting money back isn't automatic or guaranteed—they decide each one.
🔴 They'll keep charging you until you cancel. Subscriptions renew automatically. If you forget to turn it off, the charges keep coming.
🟡 They can change or kill the service whenever they want. No warning required. Your workflow depends on it staying available.
🟡 Price increases kick in at your next billing cycle. If you keep using it after they raise the rate, they treat that as acceptance. You're locked in until renewal.
🟢 Your data stays yours. They store and manage your vault, but you own everything in it. They don't claim rights to your information.
Good data privacy. The subscription and refund terms are standard for SaaS, but they tip in the company's favor.
