Coda's Terms: Binding Arbitration, Auto-Renew, and Your Org's Control

Coda is a workspace for documents, spreadsheets, and apps. We read their terms so you don't have to. Here's what you're signing up for.

๐Ÿ”ด Binding arbitration blocks your right to sue. Any dispute goes to arbitration, not court. You can't join a class action lawsuit or demand a jury trial.

๐Ÿ”ด Your subscription auto-renews every month. You have 30 days to cancel or you're charged again. Miss the window and you're in.

๐Ÿ”ด Your organization can take over your account. If you sign up with a school or work email, the institution can access, merge, or shut down your account without asking you first.

๐ŸŸก Deleting your account is permanent. Once it's gone, all your content is gone. No recovery.

๐ŸŸข You can export or delete your data anytime. At least that works.

C-grade terms. The arbitration clause, auto-renewal trap, and organizational control are the real problems here.

This breakdown is based on Coda's publicly available Terms of Service and/or Privacy Policy. It may contain mistakes. Spot one? Let us know.
