HP's Terms Won't Tell You What They're Doing With Your Data
October 9, 2026
HP's terms are a C-grade effort. They cover the basics but leave you guessing on the details that matter most โ especially when it comes to privacy and what happens when you sign up for something.
HP makes printers, servers, and software for business and consumers. They sell subscriptions. They track you.
๐ด They collect data but won't say how. The privacy section is vague. You get told data is collected. You don't get told what kind, why, or for how long.
๐ก Auto-renewal is buried somewhere. HP runs multiple subscription services. The terms hint at auto-renewal mechanics but don't make it obvious where the off switch is.
๐ก Cookies and tracking โ unclear consent. They mention both. They don't explain how to actually control it or what happens if you decline.
๐ข Support exists, at least. Multiple ways to reach HP. Warranty details are there. If something breaks, you have options.
๐ก They can change these terms whenever. No notice requirement. You might wake up to new rules with no heads up.
HP's not hiding anything explosive. They're just not being clear. That's worth a C.
