RingCentral's Terms Lock You In Until You Opt Out

RingCentral is a cloud communications platform offering phone, video, messaging, and team collaboration tools. Their terms have some serious friction points around billing and renewal.

🔴 You have to actively stop the auto-renewal. The service automatically renews unless you give 30 days' notice before expiration. Miss that window and you're locked in for another term.

🔴 All charges stick for the entire contract period. Once you're in an Initial Term or Renewal Term, every recurring charge stays active the whole time. You can't selectively pause or reduce mid-term.

🔴 You pay for everything you use, plus overages. You're liable for all charges from account usage—that includes overage fees and any add-on features you activate. It's not capped.

🟡 Prices can go up with 30 days' notice. At renewal time, RingCentral can increase what you pay. Thirty days to react before the new rate kicks in.

🟢 They actually document what you're buying. Service descriptions are provided via linked attachments so you know what each offering includes. Straightforward on this one.

Grade C reflects the automatic renewal lock-in and open-ended liability for overages. Read the renewal date on your bill.
