Samsung's Terms Give Samsung All the Leverage

Samsung's terms stack the deck heavily in the company's favor. You get a D grade. Here's what that means.

Samsung makes phones, tablets, TVs, appliances, and software. Its terms govern how you can use them.

🔴 You can't sue Samsung in court. Arbitration is mandatory. Class action lawsuits are off the table. Any dispute between you and Samsung goes to private arbitration instead of a jury trial.

🔴 Samsung owns anything you create on their platform. Any content you upload or generate—photos, videos, posts, feedback—Samsung gets a license to use your intellectual property however it wants.

🔴 You can't tinker, modify, or build on Samsung products. Reverse engineering, modification, and creating derivative works are all prohibited. You own the device. You can't really own what it does.

🟡 All trademarks and site content belong to Samsung. You get personal use only. Everything else is theirs.

🟡 Break the terms and Samsung cuts you off. Violations result in account termination and potential legal action against you.

A D grade reflects terms that consistently favor the company. Read the fine print before you agree.
