X's Terms Will Show You Ads, Remove Your Posts, and Keep Your Content Forever
October 19, 2026
X trades free access for forced advertising, broad enforcement powers, and disclaimed warranties. You're not buying a service—you're the product. Here's what that means.
X is a social media platform where you post, share, and interact. The company makes money selling ads to reach you.
🔴 You see ads because that's the deal. X displays advertising and frames it as the price of entry. No ad-free tier. No opt-out. You accept ads in exchange for access.
🔴 X can remove anything and ban you whenever. The company reserves broad enforcement rights including content removal and account termination. They don't need to explain themselves first.
🔴 Nothing is guaranteed. Services are provided as-is with all warranties disclaimed. If something breaks or stops working, that's on you. X assumes no liability.
🟡 Your posts belong to X too. When you post, you grant X a broad royalty-free license to use your content worldwide. That license doesn't expire when you delete the post.
🟡 X can suspend or kill your account for inactivity, legal reasons, or business decisions. They don't need commercial justification. Inactivity alone is enough.
Grade D means significant risk. Read the full terms if you're using this platform seriously.
